MEMPHIS, TN - A West Tennessee Sheriff's Deputy is in critical condition, as his son is treated for leukemia at St. Jude.

In May, abc24.com told you about 8-year-old Zach Wyman's fight against leukemia. Now his father, Hardeman County Sheriff's deputy Dale Wyman, is fighting for his life.

Wyman was injured Friday, August 10, while responding to a crash. He hit a ditch and flipped his cruiser, and had to be cut out from the car. He's now in critical condition at The MED.

A family friend told abc24.com Wyman may be paralyzed. Friends and family will hold a prayer vigil Friday, August 17 for deputy Wyman at 6 p.m. at the Optimist Baseball Field in Boliver, TN. There will also be a Benefit for Wyman at the Middleton City Park on August 25 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Meanwhile the deputy's son, Zach, is out of the Ronald McDonald House. However, he's been in and out of the hospital dealing with sickness. He is still receiving treatment once a week.

You really believe a god will fix it all? Isn't your Christian deity responsible for the events in the first place? Besides that, who are you to believe that you have the power to change such "divine" plans from said deity? What about all the billions who lost love ones throughout the ages when their deity did nothing to save them, in spite of prayers? Are you assuming that they weren't good enough? Any way you try to justify it, it still comes out the same. Prayer has never had an effect on overall human life expectancy. Religion remains to be a very kooky way to react to the fear of death. Obviously, its followers are so filled with such fear that their critical thinking skills have become affected.
