MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis Firefighters found the body of a woman in a bedroom after battling a house fire in north Memphis.

The fire happened just before 3 a.m. on the 2000-block of Dexter near Hollywood on Feb. 28.

The fire was knocked down in less than 10 minutes; as fire investigators were searching the house they found the body of a woman in the back bedroom. Her name and age have not been released pending identification and notification of her family.

Firefighters also found a second person in that home, a 50-year-old man who suffered first and second degree burns to his face.

According to Lt. Wayne Cooke with the Memphis Fire Department, "He sustained smoke inhalation and a few minor burns; he's being transported in noncritical condition to the Regional Medical Center's Burn Unit."

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, as does the death of the woman whose body was found inside.
