Woman Killed in Orange Mound Domestic Shooting

MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A man is behind bars after a deadly shooting in the Orange Mound area Friday morning.

Police say the shooting happened around 7:45 a.m. on Friday, May 24, at a home in the 600-block of Hamilton near Spottswood. Investigators say the suspect, 43-year-old William Langston, was standing in the driveway when officers arrived, and told them he had gotten into a fight with his wife. Police found 35-year-old Kimberly Langston shot dead in the den of their home.

According to the police affidavit, the two were arguing when Kimberly armed herself with a knife. William then got a gun and shot his wife in the head.

William Langston was charged with Voluntary Manslaughter and booked at the Shelby County Jail without bond. He is scheduled to appear in court May 28.
