MEMPHIS, TN-- Shelby County deputies say the body found in the Loosahatchie River Thursday morning is Karen Denise Thomas.
The body was discovered floating in the Loosahatchie River near a bridge at Watkins St. near Thomas St. around 11:00 a.m.
Karen Thomas was last seen by her husband leaving their Raleigh home Thursday night, October 11th. She was reported missing after she didn't show up for work the next day. Her SUV was found abandoned in the parking lot of Garden Ridge in northeast Memphis Monday morning.
According to family and friends of Karen, she and her husband Terrence were going through a divorce.
They say the couple continued to live together with their two children.
Shelby County Sheriff's Office are investigating the case along with the Memphis Police Department. So far, there have been no arrests.
