Teen Charged With Murdering Memphis Principal

MEMPHIS, TN - A student at Memphis Junior Academy has been charged with killing the principal of the private school on Wednesday, August 10, 2011.

Memphis police say that 16-year-old Eduardo Marmolejo was been charged in the stabbing murder of 49-year-old Suzette York.

Police were called to Memphis Junior Academy around 11:25 a.m. on August 10, where they found York dead on the scene from multiple stab wounds. Marmolejo was on the scene when police arrived and was arrested.

Police say Marmolejo planned to kill York well before actually committing the crime. Marmolejo told police he did not like York and that she had made him angry. He also told police he knew he would be alone with York on Wednesday and would have the opportunity to kill her.

Marmolejo has been charged with first-degree murder.

reading the comments..i don't know why u people think only black kids comment crime..hell a lot of these kids r bad as hell..

@samclemens-Just because the school is affilated with a church denomination, doesn't mean all the students attend their church or are even Christians at all. Checkout the school's website and you see what I am referring too. @properway-give the race card a rest, when I used to teach Memphis finest children with SCS, the worse assualts I was subjected too came from black children, and it doesn't help matters when you have minority prinicipals making up execuses for it. In the end, there are way too many lives that have been affected by this kid. A husband has lost his wife, parents have lost their daughter, and a school has lost its beacon of leadership. My prayers go out to them...

I be seein' lots of black peoples driving caddys, mercedes, big ass suv's so saying white people drives them is off the map, Donehadit. I think the principle just got on his last nerve so he had to cap her azz to get any street cred. As far as prison, I sees a lot of peple want guys to go the prison to get be sexuly molested 'to have justice.' what kinda crazy talk is that?

@pkt2313- You know that if this was a black child and was enrolled in MCS, there would be over 100 comments on this page. Especially from the suburban racist on their computers. Don't act as if everyone who comments on crimes in Memphis don't or wouldn't have more to say if this child's pigmentation was a little darker. I pray for the family as well because no matter what, any crime such as this one is very SAD and heart breaking.

WHETHER THE SUSPECT IS BLACK OR NOT IS NOT THE ISSUE AT HAND. THE ISSUE IS VIOLENCE IN THE CITY, THE SCHOOLS, EVERYWHERE. WHEN A STUDENT IS BOLD ENOUGH TO BRING A WEAPON TO SCHOOL AND STAB AN AUTHORITY FIGURE, THIS PERSON HAS LOTS OF PROBLEMS. I DO NOT CARE IF HE IS WHITE OR BLACK, GREEN OR YELLOW, HE NEEDS TO BE EXECUTED. THIS WOMAN, FROM WHAT I READ, DID HER JOB AND ENJOYED HER JOB AND TRIED TO MAKE THE KIDS STUDY AND LEARN. NOW SHE IS DEAD AND WHO IS TO BLAME??? MY PRAYERS TO HER FAMILY.

Private school principal found dead on campus yesterday; 17-year-old student in custody. Police have not released a photo of the suspect. The school is a private school - not public city school.
