Heavy Rain, Flash Floods Predicted In Arkansas

A flash flood watch is in place for much of Arkansas as forecasters predict a deluge of rain in the next two days.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A flash flood watch is in place for much of Arkansas as forecasters predict a deluge of rain in the next two days.

The National Weather Service says up to 5 inches of rain is possible through Thursday in parts of western and southwestern Arkansas.  Most of the rain is expected to come Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

In Little Rock, 3 to 4 inches of rain are possible with the storm system.

The heaviest rainfall is predicted in Texarkana, Arkadelphia, Sheridan and Stuttgart. The weather service says flash flooding is likely.

Forecasters say strong to severe thunderstorms are possible on Halloween, with the storm system clearing out by Thursday night.
