Man Arrested After Barricade Situation In South Memphis

Man taken into custody after police say he got into a fight with his girlfriend and barricaded himself inside a home.
MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com)--A Memphis man is in custody after police say he barricaded himself inside a home in the 1500 block of Patton Street in South Memphis. 
     According to an MPD spokesperson, the man got into a fight with his girlfriend around 8:00 a.m. Saturday. 
     Police say, he held the woman and her child in the home for hours before finally letting them go. 
     The suspect's name has not yet been released.
     Multiple agencies were called to the scene including Memphis Police and the Shelby County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team.
     The Memphis Police Department recently announced it will be performing an internal assessment of its TACT Unit.
     An assessment that could last up to three weeks. 
     MPD says during the internal review,  the Shelby County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team will respond to situations that require a tactical team.
