The case against a man charged with the death of a mayoral candidate will go to a grand jury in January.
MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) - The case against a man charged with the death of a mayoral candidate will go to a grand jury in January.

A judge in Coahoma County, Mississippi issued an order moving the case against Lawrence Reed to Quitman County.

That is where investigators believe Marco McMillan was killed by Reed, who then dumped the body near the levee in Coahoma County, doused it in gasoline, and set it on fire.

Reed is charged with murder and has been held without bond since his arrest.

Prosecutors say phone records prove McMillian and Reed knew one another before the mayoral candidate was killed.
