The victim reported Chene Bowen, 34, entered his apartment in the 1400 block of 23rd Avenue North early Wednesday evening and an argument ensued.
Bowen allegedly threw a plate at the victim then grabbed a knife and stabbed him in his left arm.
When authorities arrived, witnesses pointed to Bowen as the suspect. She was standing outside holding another knife and a black spatula.
Police stated they were able to disarm and place Bowen in custody after a short struggle.
They were also able to recover the knife used in the stabbing.
During questioning, Bowen told officers she stabbed the man out of self defense because he hit her with a frying pan. Police, however, said Bowen showed no signs of being hit with a frying pan.
According to the landlord, she was recently evicted from the apartments and had no reason to be on the property.
Bowen was charged with aggravated assault, aggravated criminal trespassing and resisting arrest.
Her bond is set at $15,000.
