MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) -- Investigators are searching for a serial bank robber with a flare for fashion who's been feasting on Mid-South Kroger stores.
"Hmm, Kroger? It's gotten to the point that they got to rob Krogers," said Shirley Kearney.
According to the Safe Streets Task Force, the man walked into the SunTrust Bank inside the Kroger on Germantown Parkway in Cordova on Monday afternoon posing as a customer. Investigators say the suspect, dressed in a button down shirt, blue blazer, and sunglasses told the teller he had a gun and demanded money.
"He's dressed way too classy to be robbing a bank,' AJ Brannigan said.
Investigators believe the suspect has robbed before.
On Friday October 11th, a man walked into the First Tennessee branch inside the Kroger on US Highway 64. During that robbery, investigators say the suspect gave the teller a note demanding money.
A week later, on October 18th, the suspect walked up to the SunTrust Bank counter inside the Kroger on South Mendenhall.
"The subject suggested that he was armed by patting his waist area and stating someone would get hurt if he didn't get the currency," investigators said in a statement.
Police believe the suspect then fled in a black Lexus.
"It's amazing someone like that could walk in and take some money out," said Hector Campo. "He's well dressed, you probably wouldn't mistake him for a robber."
"That's a shame," Kearney added. "Looks can be deceiving."
Investigators ask anyone with information about this suspect to call CrimeStoppers at 528-CASH.
