Rebecca Butcher is a nightside reporter for Local 24 News and CW 30 News. She joined the team in February 2019.
She is happy to return to her hometown of Memphis to report. She was a weekend anchor, producer and multi-media journalist at WTVA-TV in Tupelo, Mississippi. She also worked at Local 24 News previously as an assignment editor while in college.
Rebecca studied Broadcast Journalism and graduated with a minor in Finance at the University of Memphis (#GTG). While in school, she was selected to report in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to cover the Olympics.
Her most notable stories include covering the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Memphis and the revisiting of the Emmitt Till investigation by the U.S. Justice Department. Rebecca also covered tornado coverage in the North Mississippi area and two President Donald Trump rallies.
When not reporting, she enjoys running near the Mississippi River and discussing the latest box-office movie hit.
