John Paul is an Emmy-nominated journalist who co-anchors Local 24 News Good Day Memphis! weekdays from 5-7 am and Local 24 News Midday at 11 am.
John is committed to consumer causes. He also loves serving his community.
Since joining Local 24 News, John raised money, and represented Local 24 News as one of a dozen men to help the American Cancer Society for the organization's, 'Real Men Wear Pink' campaign.
He also emceed the 'Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk', which raises money for the Down Syndrome Association of Memphis and the Midsouth to help support families and empower people living with Down Syndrome.
He has also hosted specials on Local 24 about Heart Health, Breast Cancer, highlighting Untold Stories about Black History in the Mid-South, and anchored Local 24's Liberty Bowl parade specials.
John is also passionate about data journalism. Many of his investigations and stories show you how to save money, make money, and keep you and your family safe.
Every week, John visits local schools and highlights positive stories about local children making a difference in their community. 'Local Cool School' and 'Local Cool Kid' airs Fridays on Local 24's newscasts in the morning and midday.
Previously, John anchored the top-rated weekend morning newscast at KHBS/KHOG-TV the ABC affiliate in Fort Smith/Northwest Arkansas. He also reported for WKBN-TV and WSBT-TV.
As a reporter, John earned first place recognition in the Spot News category by the Indiana Associated Press for a story about a fire at a popular restaurant.
He also earned first place recognition in the Best General News category by the Indiana Associated Press for a story about an animal rescue. He also received a second-place honor for his story about a Prisoner Escape in Northwest Indiana.
An Ohio native, John graduated from Kent State University.
