COVINGTON, Tennessee —

Yet another major Mid-South event has been canceled due to coronavirus concerns.

Covington World's Oldest BBQ Festival announced Friday the 2020 event has been canceled. This year would have been the 48th festival. The cooking contest is sanctioned by the Memphis Barbecue Network.

The city of Covington said the event will be held June 3-5, 2021 at Cobb Parr Memorial Park. The festival also includes vendors, concessions, musical entertainment, and a car show.
