Memphis Zoo visitors 21 and up soon may be able to buy alcoholic drinks

Lions and tigers and beers, oh my.

MEMPHIS, Tennessee —

Memphis Zoo visitors are one step closer to being able to grab a cold beer while looking at the tigers and lions.

The Tennessee senate voted yesterday to pass the legislation. The bill would allow the zoo to start selling alcoholic drinks during regular business hours beginning in July.

Drinks are already being sold during special nighttime events. The house version of the bill hasn't been discussed yet.
