The kids had a two-week crash course in learning about the cultures of Mexico, South Africa, and China, which culminated in Thursday’s celebration showcasing the food, culture, dance, and history of these countries.
Youth and Family Services Administrator TiffanyMcCollins said the ultimate goal was to bring all of the community centerstogether in one location to showcase what the kids have learned over thesummer.
“It gives them a positive outlook and perspective onfun. We sent them home for the end of the summer with a bang,” says McCollins.

“The mayor wanted everything that dealt with kids andyouth today, Player Park and the community centers, so we were innovativeand creative in finding a way to bring them all together,” saysMcCollins.
