MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – FedEx does more than just deliver packages. The Memphis-based company is also known for helping the community it serves. Friday, FedEx Freight presented a $25,000 check to the Southern Reins Center for Equine Therapy in Collierville.

Southern Reins provides horse-assisted therapy to people with disabilities of all types, including physical, cognitive, and emotional.

Officials with Southern Reins say the generous donation will allow them to expand their outreach program.

“We are delighted to put this money to good use, to build run-in sheds for the horses, and also support the program services that we provide,” says Jill Haag, Executive Director of Southern Reins.

Southern Reins says it helps more than 200 people each year, including military veterans through its Equine Services for Heroes program.
