Hundreds of new sports balls donated to Wells Station Elementary School

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – It was a big surprise for students at Wells Station ElementarySchool.

The Landers Auto Group joined with the Mid-South American HeartAssociation to donate 300 balls to the school. We’re talking about footballs, basketballs,soccer balls, and more.

Officials say someone broke into the school’s storage unit andstole all of the recess equipment over the summer. So this donation comes at agood time.

The kids were very excited.

“We are very grateful for the equipment thatya’ll gave us because we need more equipment so we can play in PE and forrecess and just to have fun,” said student Karlie Cherry.

“We’re just very proud to be a part of it, wereally are. It does, as you say, make you feel like a kid and smile and feelgood about what we’re doing,” said Don Kitchens, Vice President & GeneralManger of Landers Ford.

This is the second year the Landers Auto Group partneredwith the Mid-South American Heart Association for the Drive for Youth Sportscampaign.
