MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – A Memphis school is working to make sure breast cancer patients and survivors can look their best.

Trezevant Career and Technical School in Frayser hosted a “pamper me pink” event Monday. Cancer patients and survivors were treated to free hairstyles, facials, and manicures by cosmetology students.

Cosmetologists say it means a lot to be able to help the community like this.

“It’s always special when you can give back. I have people in my family that have cancer, so it’s very important. So, I love coming, and I look forward to it every year,” said cosmetologist Myoshi Redick.

This event happens every year in October in honor of breast cancer awareness month. This year, students also released balloons honoring cancer victims.
