MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – A local nonprofit is gearing up to feed children in under-served areasfor the holidays.  It’s called Operation Taking Back 901. Local 24News Weeknight Anchor Katina Rankin has this local good news.

Arieale Munson loves kids, and that’s why she said she started the nonprofit Operation Taking Back 901. The organization’s mission: to serve under-served children in Shelby County.

“I know how it feels to be without certain things, so I wouldlike to just be a blessing and give back to the community by providingresources and letting everyone know there is someone that cares about thecommunity,” said Munson.

She’s showing she cares by having a holiday meal complete withchicken, greens, corn, green salad – you name it – for those in need. It willbe held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral on Poplar Avenue on December 21st.

“And provide essential items to keep them warm throughout theyear,” said Munson. Items like hats, gloves, and scarves.

“It’s about to get real cold and a lot of people don’t have awarm place to go, so they need something to keep their heads warm and handswarm as well,” said Munson.

And her effort to give back warms our heart.
