MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Go to school, get a new set of wheels. That was the message to students at Hawkins Mill Elementary Friday.
It’s part of the Shelby County District Attorney’s program to reduce absenteeism in Shelby County Schools. The Memphis Grizzlies teamed up with the D.A.’s office for the Every Day in School program.
Last year 321 students received free bikes and helmets for perfect attendance and no tardy days for the entire school year.
