MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Fred’s has officially filed notice to lay off workers at its Memphis-based headquarters.
The discount chain says its permanent closure August 9th will impact 155 employees. The company says many will get help from area agencies to find jobs.
Last month, the company announced that more than 260 Fred’s locations across the U.S. would be shuttered, including multiple stores in the Mid-South.
