MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – What was supposed to be just another ride Thursday turned into acelebration and serenade for one local traveler.
The Independent Transportation Network Memphis celebrated Ms. Stella Day as the 10,000th rider of its ride share service. To honor her, the organization got a special guest from Opera Memphis, one from St. Luke United Methodist Church, and a volunteer driver to serenade her.
Ms. Day is a long-time member of the service and says the grouphas been very important to her.
“Well, it’s just a big help in that it gets mearound when I need to be somewhere and family can’t do everything,” said Day.
“Our program is so unique because we take themwhere-ever they want or need to go. But it helps them to stay independent andto be on their own somewhat,” said Tommie Cervetti, President, ITN Memphis.
ITN Memphis has been giving rides to seniors in theMid-South since 2014.
