(PINK PALACE NEWS RELEASE)– Memphis Museums, Incorporated is proud to announce the hiring of KevinThompson as new Executive Director of the Pink Palace Family of Museums.
Thompson has served as aBoard Member for the past seven years and served as an officer for three ofthose years. He assisted in the development of the current Pink Palace Familyof Museums strategic plan, fundraising for the renovation of the planetariumand mansion, and development of many of the current board practices.
Thompson is a graduate ofRhodes College, which is how he discovered his love of Memphis. “Throughout my years in Memphis, I learned many rich,quirky, crazy stories about the people, culture and history of our City andregion. There are so many interesting stories to tell about Memphis andsurrounding areas. I hope to share those stories and many more with ourcommunities as new Executive Director at the Pink Palace,” said Thompson.
Thompson is a resident ofMidtown with his husband, Travis, two kids, and two dogs. He enjoysrunning, biking, surfing and restoring old houses, and is just starting histhird renovation in Midtown!
A passion for numbers ledThompson to a 27-year career in finance, where he worked in the bonddepartments of Ernst & Young LLP, Public Financial Management and MorganKeegan/Raymond James. Throughout his career, he created new opportunities forthese companies, through product development and footprint expansion.
