HERNANDO, Miss. (localmemphis.com) – Two people were killed during a police chase that started in Hernando early Saturday morning.
According to Hernando police, around 4:20 a.m., officers tried to stop a stolen Maroon Nissan Maxima that had multiple people inside.
They ran from police, getting onto I-55 from the southbound exit ramp at CommerceSt., driving northbound in the southbound lanes of I-55.
Several of the people in the car were thrown from the vehicle when it hit a guardrail near Mount Pleasant Rd.
20-year-old Kristopher Ford, from Memphis was pronounced dead on thescene.
20-year-old Jessie L. White, also from Memphis, was taken to BaptistDeSoto where he died.
Several other people were taken to area hospitals to be treated for theirinjuries.
No officers were injured during this incident.
