LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Oh, the growing pains that come with adulthood.

Let’s face it, when it comes to becoming an adult, it can sometimes be stressful.

Everything from landing the first job to having to budget finances.

However, Josh Burnette, owner and operator at the Chick-fil-A off Chenal & Markham, has been inspiring and helping his employees while they transition into adulthood, both professionally and personally.

“I have seen first hand each and every day seeing the things that they struggle with and seeing the things they are very successful in,” says Burnette. “Seeing both of those is what really drove the content for Adulting 101.”

The book, titled “Adulting 101” is a practical guide for any high school or college student who might be entering their first job. It offers basic life skills that Burnette believes sometimes go untaught in classrooms.

“For many of my employees this is their first job,” Burnette says. “They graduate and are on their own to figure out how to live successfully in the world.”

Although written for a younger audience in mind, Burnette says the book can impact anyone. He hopes the book will offer guidance.

“It’s a quick read that it intended to be a resource for them,” explains Burnette. “The book allows them to read it and apply what they’ve learned.”

Burnette gives the book to every employee he hires on their first day.

“It gives them a way to learn a little about me but more importantly it prepares them,” Burnette says. “I care about each and every one of my employees and I want them to be successful here and at life.”
