Shelby County Community Gardens ready to grow

Ribbon-cutting ceremony at Shelby Farms marks the reestablishment of the popular program

MEMPHIS, Tennessee —

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Friday to reestablish the Shelby County Community Gardens program in Shelby Farms.

The gardens give Shelby County residents an opportunity to grow vegetables, fruits, or flowers for free on a plot.

With many people staying home due to COVID-19, gardening can be a positive activity to use as an escape while respecting social distancing.
