Four family members dead in apparent murder-suicide in Fayette County, TN

SOMERVILLE, Tenn. — UPDATE 2/22/2021 - The Fayette County Sheriff's Office has released a bit more information about a deadly murder-suicide there.

Investigators said it appears a family member killed three others in a home on Hutton Drive on February 18, 2021, before committing suicide.Investigators said all four had been shot, but can not confirm the cause of death until the Medical Examiner's Office issues its report.

The victims were sent to the Shelby County Medical Examiner’s Office and are awaiting autopsy.  Two of the victims are in their teens. The third victim and the suspect were both adults.  

The names of the adults and relationships of those involved are not being released until there is a positive identification from the Medical Examiner. 

Investigators also confirmed there was no prior history of violence or law enforcement related calls at the residence.

2/19/2021 - Authorities in Tennessee are investigating the deaths of four family members in what appears to be a murder-suicide.

The deaths occurred Thursday. 

No additional details were released, but investigators said there was no history of violence or law enforcement-related calls at the residence.
