Memphis Police officer taken to hospital after man suspected of DUI crashes into his squad car

The officer was at the scene of a crash on I240 Saturday night when his car was hit

MEMPHIS, Tennessee — A Memphis Police officer was sent to the hospital after his squad car was hit by a suspected drunk driver.

Memphis Police say the officer was finishing paperwork at the scene of a crash on I-240 and Trigg Saturday night when his car was hit by 37-year-old David Harper. Harper faces several charges, including DUI.

The officer has been released from the hospital.

While on the scene finishing paperwork for this crash, an officer's vehicle was struck by David Harper, 37.
The officer was transported to Methodist and has since been released.
