WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (localmemphis.com) – West Memphis police say a man and a girlhave been arrested and charged in several break-ins in the city.

Police say Joseph Griffin and the unnamedjuvenile girl were spotted early Sunday morning by a patrol lieutenant on hisway to work. Investigators say the two fit the description of two people whohad run from other officers earlier that morning.

Police say Griffin had a backup on himcontaining several reported stolen items.

Investigators say Griffin and the girladmitted to being involved in two vehicle burglaries and two thefts that werereported, and several that had not been reported. They say the two alsoadmitted to breaking into several cars in Marion, and investigators forwardedthat information to Marion Police.

Griffin and the girl are charged with two counts of theftof vehicle, and two counts of breaking or entering. Police say at the time ofhis arrest, Griffin was out of jail on pre-trial release for 16 counts ofBreaking or Entering. Those cases are still pending prosecution.

The girl was transported to the Crittenden CountyJuvenile Detention Center.

Police want to warn the public that the two toldofficers they targeted unlocked vehicle. Police say to remember to removevaluables and to lock your vehicles.
