MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – UPDATE – 5:20 p.m. – The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office says Jack Kilpatrick has been captured by authorities in Alabama.

The search is on for a Shelby County inmate who escaped while on work release.

Investigators say 39-year-old Jack Kilpatrick took off in a work truck about 7:45 a.m. Monday from a work site in the 4500 block of Clarke Road in Memphis. The white 2005 GMC Sierra truck has “Container Maintenance” stencils on both sides and license plate AHU-153.

Kilpatrick had been in jail since October 23, 2019, and wasserving an 11-month, 29-day sentence for possession of meth. He also has anadditional 90-day sentence to serve consecutively.

Kilpatrick is 6’2” tall and 210 pounds, with a light beard. He has black hair and green eyes.
