MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – The Agricenter cut the ribbon Friday on its new commercialteaching kitchen.
The new kitchen includes a demonstration area and goeshand-in-hand with the Agricenter’s garden.
Officials will first take students and guests through the garden sothey can see what the different fruits and vegetables look like as they grow. Theythen head to the kitchen where they will then be able to prepare some neatdishes using the fresh food.
“Part of what our challenge is, as farmers andranchers, is to make sure people understand where their food and fiber comesfrom. And that’s what this facility allows us to do. It’s to kind of finish thestory and tell it in a way that really resonates to folks,” says AgricenterInternational President & CEO John Butler.
Officials say it took about a year and a half todevelop and build the new teaching kitchen at the Agricenter.
