Students at a local middle school were able to see how politics and education converge Wednesday. C-SPAN’s 45-foot interactive bus made a stop at KIPP Middle School.

On the bus, students and teacher were able to see the history of in-depth coverage of the political process, and take a look at comprehensive online educational resources.

They were also able to share their thoughts on what it means to be an American as part of C-SPAN’s “Voices from the Road” project.

“I hope my students got the insight into accurate and real depictions of the happenings in the United States government,” said 7th grade math teacher Nyisha Edwards.

“We realize that there’s more to C-SPAN than just talking about governments. It’s more, they like putting more work into other companies because they put 240,000 content of hours in,” said 6th grader Toris Seales.

The trip coincides with the network’s 40th anniversary of putting the U.S. House of Representatives on TV.
