HORN LAKE, Miss. (localmemphis.com) – Over six feet tall and nearly 300 pounds, Josaih Hayes is big. He’s also fast, and he’s among the top high school football players in the Mid-South, and among the best in the country.
It’s easy to seewhy college football powerhouses wanted him on their team.
“I gotscholarships from Mississippi State, LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, OKState, Oklahoma, Memphis, Tennessee, Florida,” said Hayes.
Fourteen collegesin all offered Hayes a scholarship. Hayes committed to Ole Miss.
“I feel likeOle Miss would be good for me, a good fit and close to home,” said Hayes.
Ole Miss isgetting a winner.
“It wasmind-blowing bringing the first championship to Horn Lake. And then we wentundefeated, so I was happy and excited,” said Hayes.
He’s a tremendoustalent. He has received a lot of recognition, but he’s not letting it go to hishead.
He’s focused.He’s working hard; watching film and getting stronger to help bring Horn Lakeanother chip.
“Like my momsaid, stay humble and keep God first,” said Hayes.
