MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – As the Mid-South Fair kicks off this week, Germantown Elementary third-grader Jade Mitchell is ready for her close-up.
Mitchell was selected as the fair’s first-ever Spokeskid.
When the call went out for a Mid-south kid to be the first, official, Spokeskid, Jade knew this was her chance.
“I was excited,” said Mitchell. “I was jumping around the house. I slipped and fell, and I kept jumping around, anyway.”
For the next week and a half, Jade will be very busy promoting the fair, and highlighting her role.
“The youth competition, youth division competition, there’s a lot of talent shows that I am the host of,” said Jade.
For Jade, she’s living her dream of one day becoming a talk-show host.
“I like talking about good things, a lot,” said Jade.
She’s full of spunk and personality, and ready to wow the crowd.
