283 new cases & 6 new deaths in Arkansas

5:05 p.m. - The Arkansas Department of Health reports 283 new COVID-19 cases and 6 new deaths, for a total of 332,949 cases and 5,686 deaths in the state.

There are currently 1,843 active cases in the state.

1,535 new cases & 9 new deaths in Tennessee

3:25 p.m. - The Tennessee Department of Health reports 1,535 new COVID-19 cases and 9 new deaths, for a total of 829,114 cases and 12,041 deaths in the state.

There are currently 794 hospitalizations in the state.

Memphis Health Center to host Moderna vaccination event Saturday

9:55 a.m. - (NEWS RELEASE) - Memphis Health Center (MHC), a comprehensive, federally qualified community health center. On Saturday, April 17th 2021 from 8:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M., MHC will host a COVID-19 Vaccination Event for the Moderna Vaccine, in partnership with St. Patrick Catholic Church Mobile Food Drive located at 277 S. Fourth Street Memphis, TN 38126.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of MHC, Marilyn Burress, “In keeping with our mission, we are doing everything we can to help control and contain the impact of COVID-19. Vaccinating as many people as possible in the communities that we live, work, and serve is our ultimate goal.”

There is no appointment needed, however pre-registration is encouraged. Individuals seeking vaccines should call 901-261-2042. THERE ARE NO OUT OF POCKET COSTS! 1st and 2nd dose vaccines are available.

9:50 a.m. - The Shelby County Health Department reports 262 new COVID-19 cases and 7 new deaths, for a total of 93,246 cases and 1,593 deaths in the county.

410 new cases & 6 new deaths in Mississippi

8:50 a.m. - The Mississippi State Department of Health reports 410 new COVID-19 cases and 6 new deaths, for a total of 308,521 cases and 7,127 deaths in the state.

Desoto County has a total of 20,901 cases and 250 deaths in the county.
