Churches continue to be present in time of social distancing

People leaning on their faith during Easter season in the face of coronavirus pandemic.

DECATUR, Ga. — Throughout the entire coronavirus outbreak, we have seen people leaning on their faith.

That has been especially important for many on Easter Sunday.

Churches have been working very hard in finding ways to keep congregations and celebrations together during this time of year.

As with Decatur's Rainbow Park Baptist Church, many Georgians are either finding themselves staying home to live-stream their church service or going to drive-thru services.

Gov. Brian Kemp has asked all Georgia churches to suspend in-person services this year.

We have covered other services recently where people have remained in their cars, wearing masks -- and more services of that type are expected on Sunday.

The annual Easter Sunrise Service at the top of Stone Mountain was canceled. This would have marked its 76th year.

Also canceled, was the annual Easter service planned for the base of Kennesaw Mountain.
