MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – A new interactive outdoor space for children and families will soon come to life at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.

Hospital officials broke ground Friday on the new Le BonheurGreen, which will include a prayer labyrinth, as well as a walking path in theshape of a heart.

There will also be a front porch gathering space and an open greenfor children to run and play.

The idea for the outdoor area came from the Krull family, whosedaughter Lucy was being treated for a form of brain and spinal cancer

“We recognized after some time that we spent at another hospital,that there was a need for a place of respite, a place for quiet,” says KateKrull.

The Le Bonheur Green is expected to be complete this Spring.
