Broncos' Cody Latimer goes on a ride along with Denver Police

Broncos player Cody Latimer and Denver Police officer Lee Ingersol could easily have their own buddy cop movie - but we'll settle for this ride along video.

Just a few hours after the Denver Broncos finally got a win at home after over two months on Sunday, Denver Police released a ride along video featuring Corporal Lee Ingersol and wide receiver Cody Latimer.

Earlier this season, President Donald Trump referred to NFL players who protest as sons of b------ and encouraged the removal of players who did not stand for the National Anthem before games.

When the players kneel, they're protesting police violence against minorities in this country. Many, however, see the protests as a broader indictment of the U.S. and the military - specifically veterans.

After the vitriol spat between those on both sides of the NFL protest debates this season, seeing an officer and NFL player come together to explain a little bit about law enforcement - in a positive way - is not only a great idea but also it's just great.

For those who've noticed - 9NEWS has put in a call to the department asking about the apparent lack of seat belts worn by the two stars. DPD confirmed this was the case, and issued the following statement to 9NEWS, saying they hope this oversight doesn't take away from the video's overall message:

"It has been brought to our attention that the corporal featured in our video and his passenger are not wearing their seat belts. We advise all motorists, law enforcement or civilian, to wear their seat belts and have addressed this specific incident with supervisors. We apologize for the oversight and hope that it does not take away from the message of community and understanding intended by this video."
