Chili’s is honoring the patients, families, and staff at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital with a cookout.
Tuesday’s celebration at the hospital in downtown Memphis also kicked off Chili’s annual Create-A-Pepper campaign. Restaurants nationwide raise funds for St. Jude by encouraging their patrons to donate throughout Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, by coloring a pinup of the signature chili’s pepper.
“While they raise all this amazing money, they don’t forget what’s most important, which is coming here on days like today and having a cookout. Allowing our families to gather around the table just like millions of people do every year at Chili’s restaurants across the country to just sit down and enjoy the American fun of a cookout altogether,” says Emily Callahan, the Chief Marketing and Experience Officer with ALSAC.
Chili’s has worked with St. Jude for 16 years and has raised more than $68-million.
