The City of Memphis has invested in a program to assist families during the tax season.
IRS volunteers helped families who qualified for free tax help at the Southland Mall on Saturday.
Organizers say if you make $55,000 or less, you can get your taxes prepared for free at various locations across the Mid-South.
“We’re going to be having free tax preparation returns in 23 sites, including here at Southland Mall, and we’ll be doing it from now until April 15th and even a little bit after that for people who don’t quite make the April 15th deadline,” said Kenneth Robinson, President and CEO of the United Way of the Mid-South.
If you’re interested in receiving free tax help, you can call the City of Memphis 211 hotline for the list of locations.
