A DeSoto County is being recognized for helping to rescue a dog stuck in a culvert.
It happened Sunday, when Deputy AJ Rivera was called to a home about a couple’s 70 pound dog that had chased a cat into a metal culvert under a driveway. The cat was able to get out, but the dog became stuck and couldn’t back out himself.
Deputy Rivera and neighbors joined forces to dig the dog, named “Happy,” out.
From the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department:
“This is not the first time that AJ has gone above and beyond the call of duty. He is always motivated and willing to help our citizens in need. Thank you for everything that you do for this county, Deputy Rivera!”
