Student no longer enrolled at UT after 'violent and disturbing racist' video

The university said it will use a bias process to review every case that comes in and invites students to submit a bias report on the Dean of Students website.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn — The University of Tennessee said the student who made a "violent and disturbing racist" video is no longer enrolled at the university, as of Thursday afternoon.

In a statement Sunday afternoon, the university said it became aware of the video and notified police. UT also said it contacted student conduct for an immediate review and placed the student on immediate interim suspension.

The university said it will use a bias process to review every case that comes in and invites students to submit a bias report on the Dean of Students website, which allows you to upload screenshots or other supporting documentation.

"We are committed to protecting our Black students and colleagues. We will do the hard work to lead, learn and create an equitable community that values and respects all people," the university said in a statement.

This comes a few days after UT barred an incoming freshman cheerleader from joining the team after video of racist remarks surfaced. UT said she won't be attending the university this fall.

"We condemn hate, racism, and violence and will support our black students and make campus safe for them," the university said in a statement.
