An employee of a tire shop sits in jail charged with killing his boss and another employee. Memphis Police charged Rickey Hull, Jr. with two counts of first-degree murder.
It happened Thursday afternoon at Third Tire Shop in the 3000 block of South Third.
Police say the owner, whom they identify as Kamel Al Abes (and by friends and family as Kamel Abood), and Marcus Anderson were found by officers bleeding on the floor of the shop. Anderson died at the scene. Al Abes was rushed to the hospital, where he later died. Police say both had been shot several times.
Police say a witness saw the shooting and saw the suspect leave the scene in a black Buick. They say they also got information the shooter was an employee who had family nearby. Police say the shooting was also captured on surveillance cameras.
Police say Hull Jr. was located and brought in for questioning. His car was towed, and it and his home were searched. Police say they found a rifle and clothing containing blood, which matched the weapon and clothing in the video.
Police say Hull Jr. invoked his rights, telling them “I think I’m going to need an attorney for this one.”
The shop owner’s friend told Local 24 News the shooting stemmed from a problem Hull had with a car the owner bought for him.
