Last week, authorities said Charles Kalb of Memphis shot and killed Robinson in the back as Robinson reportedly stole a chainsaw from Mid-South Small Engines.
Police said Robinson, unarmed, was running from the scenewhen Kalb pulled out a sawed-off shotgun and fired several times, hittingRobinson in the back.
Kalb was arrested, charged with first-degree murder, andlater released on a $1 million bond after appearing in court last week.
Manis said Robinson had spent time in prison and wasrecently released and that a person has no right to kill when there is nophysical threat present.
We’ve reached out Kalb’s attorney and expect a responsesometime Tuesday afternoon after that attorney finishes his commitments incourt.
