GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) Torrential rains and flooding earlier this month have cost Houston High School hundreds of thousands of dollars.

At Monday night’s Germantown Municipal School Board Meeting, the board unanimously approved funding to clean water damaged areas of the school and to replace the gym’s wood floor which was flooded.

The estimate for the gym’s floor is over $153,000, and the projected cost of repairs to other parts of the school is over $222,000.

The city reported that in the early morning hours of June 7, more than 10 inches of rain fell in city over 3 hours, causing significant flooding of dozens of homes, a city fire engine and ambulance. There were no reports of injuries.
