MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Miss Flo is helping traffic flow again in a Berclair school zone. The popular Grahamwood Elementary crossing guard was hit by a car while helping students cross the street. Her recovery took her two months to fully heal.

FloraWallace, known as Miss Flo, told Local 24 News she is incredibly happy to backat her job. So many parents and students stopped Wednesday to give her hugs andkind words for her first day back.

Oneparent we spoke with said she even practiced her job a few days before comingback so she knew she was ready.

Shesays this is what she loves doing and wants to make sure no one else gets hurtwhile coming to and from school.

“Theyneed to realize this is a school zone. It could have been a child crossing. Payattention to your surroundings and slow down. Wherever you got to be will stillbe there,” said Miss Flo.

SCSsays it’s looking to install flashing school zone signs along this street toremind drivers of the school zone.
