Habitat for Humanity’s 3-day celebration concluded with their first-ever family reunion Sunday.
The event honored the more than 1,300 families, volunteers, and donors who worked to build homes throughout its 35 years.
This came after a 3-day blitz of construction including the completion of their 500th home.
“The blitz was incredible! We think we saw about 500 people out over a 3-day period working on 12 houses. It was amazing! It got a little hot, but people were motivated and excited, and we really had a good time,” said Dwayne Spencer, President & CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis.
American Idol contestant and Memphian Gedeon McKinney performed for guests.
McKinney grew up in a Habitat for Humanity House so this event was special for him as well.
