As the Harlem Globetrotters prepare to bring their tour to Memphis, one of the team’s stars, Hoops Green, stopped by to honor local hairstylist Callie Terrell for recently celebrating her 100th birthday.
Terrell made national news in the fall when she announced she would retire following her birthday in November 2018, but she continues to style hair.
Hoops, who is only the 15th female star and is known for her dazzling hair styles, paid a visit to the beautician to get her hair styled. Hoops also presented Terrell with an official Globetrotters jersey, an invitation to the team’s upcoming performance, and a ticket donation for local underprivileged youth.
The Harlem Globetrotters and Terrell have a celebrated a combined 192 birthdays.
