MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Reading and earning prizes go hand-in-hand for the Memphis Public Libraries' "Explore Memphis" program this summer.
Everyone is invited — kids, teenagers and adults are encouraged to sign up at any branch of Memphis Public Libraries or follow the link here.
The goal is to read or be read to for at least 20 minutes a day. Participants keep track of their time by logging it online or bringing a physical copy of a reading log to the library.
Prizes are said to include both real and virtual items, including gift cards, a Samsung tablet, Razor A Scooters and more. Books are also some of the prizes participants can win by reading and logging their time.
Additionally, the Memphis Public Libraries offers free virtual summer camps focused on topics including robotics, music production and stop motion.
Memphis Public Libraries also encourages teenagers to keep up with the Cloud 901 Instagram page for offerings like escape rooms and robotics demonstrations.
