The Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County announced Tuesday that Ted Davis has been named the 2018 President of the Board of Directors.
Davis has been involved with the Humane Society since 2009, when he adopted his Silky Terrier, Lulu. He was inspired to join the organization by board members Maria Garrett and Anne Davis, who led him to adopt a family pet and become involved with the mission of rescuing injured and abused animals.
He officially joined the Board of Directors in December 2015.
“The success stories with families and the remarkable physical and emotional recovery of the animals are the most rewarding aspects to me,” said Davis.
Initially, his first priority was to work on a campaign inspiring other adopters to become loyal donors. That led to him being the Paw Prints Gala committee chair in 2017. Both of those experiences made him an excellent candidate for Board President.
Davis is also on the City of Memphis Pension Board and the Kosten Foundation 5K race committee.
Davis is currently Vice President Wealth Advisor for Regions.
The 2018 Humane Society Board of Directors is comprised of Ted Davis, President; Maria Garrett, Vice President; Anne Davis, Treasurer; and Susan Fleck, Secretary.
